What's the role?

To support the growth of the robust Irish construction market, we are looking for a Measuring Specialist to work with Hilti’s highly innovative advanced layout products, launching these within the Irish Market. The Measuring Specialist is responsible for the profitable sales development of Hilti’s advanced layout products within Ireland. You will coordinate efforts of the entire team of Account Managers, Regional Managers, Sales Directors, Field Engineers and Marketing Team members with the goal of developing leads and improving market reach of advanced layout.

You will develop tactical sales plans, create account specific sales strategies, drive sales force competencies, support the sales force by conducting product demonstrations, completing direct sales calls with customers and implementing and steering product/marketing strategies in the application fields of advanced layout and high-end detection.

What does the role involve?

The Measuring Specialist role is highly strategic, partnering with existing customers acting as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for our highly technical products and providing the sales organisation expert "hands-on" and software support. This is coupled with supporting the launch of new products to customers and team members by acquainting them with product feature benefits and tool functionality.

You will keep in close contact with customers to determine application, software and service needs and test new products, collect data and customer feedback and provide marketing support to ensure new products are developed according to industry and customer needs.

The Measuring Specialist role is highly autonomous, your Hilti van will be your office and you will plan, organise and prioritise your time to ensure effectiveness. As this is a National role, you will drive growth through the 32 counties and some travel will be required.

What you need is:

  • Strong commercial selling skills: ability to understand, build, present and demonstrate the value of our Advanced Layout tools to customers and successfully translate this into sales
  • Customer centric focus: looking at the big picture, competition and project-specific applications to drive sales of advanced layout products
  • Sound business acumen with a strong understanding of the Irish construction market
  • At ease with High-end measuring products and the ability to understand construction processes
  • Ability to travel (including overnight stays) and work on construction job sites at all times of the year
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred, ideal areas of study include: civil, structural, surveying or related engineering field.
  • Surveying experience in the construction field or optical field (i.e., total stations) would be very highly regarded
  • Full working rights in Ireland
  • A full, clean manual Irish driver's license
